Admission Requirements for International Students

  1. Applicants wishing to study at Darul Uloom Deoband must hold a student visa that specifically permits study at Darul Uloom Deoband. No other type of visa is valid for admission to the institution.
  2. To facilitate the process of obtaining a student visa, the institution issues a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to applicants wishing to study. To obtain the NOC, the applicant must submit an application for admission containing the following details:
    • The applicant’s full name and father’s full name (in English)
    • Complete postal address (in English)
    • Tazkirah (for applicants from Afghanistan)
    • A copy of a valid passport
    • The level of study (academic class) the applicant wishes to join
  3. The institution issues No Objection Certificates from the beginning of Jumada al-Thani until Sha‘ban of each academic year.
  4. International students are admitted only to Class Six, Class Seven, and the Final Class Eight (Dawrah Hadith).
  5. All applicants—both Indian citizens and international students—must pass the entrance examinations, which are held from the first week of Shawwal each academic year.
  6. After passing the institution’s entrance examination, applicants must submit the original documents and certificates, including their academic certificate, Tazkiyah (recommendation), and character certificate issued by the school or educational institution where they studied.
  7. The language of instruction at the institution is Urdu. Therefore, applicants should have sufficient knowledge of Urdu to understand the lessons properly.
  8. The institution provides students with education, lunch and dinner, accommodation, and prescribed textbooks free of charge, and does not charge students any fees.
  9. Applicants from Bangladesh and Afghanistan are required to submit a Tazkiyah (recommendation) in addition to the student visa. The names of the scholars from whom the Tazkiyah must be obtained are mentioned below in the instructions written in Urdu.
